Ingredients
3 cups whole wheat flour
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
4 tablespoons white sugar
3/4 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 pack active dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Add 1 pack of active dry yeast to the warm water and stir lightly. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar to the mixture and stir again. Set aside to rise for approximately 20 minutes.
3. In a large bowl mix together whole wheat flour, all purpose flour, salt, 3 tablespoons sugar and baking powder.
4. Add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture. Then add about 2 cups water and knead dough.
5. Place on grease cookie sheet and let rise for about 1 hour.
6. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.
