Ingredients
Dough:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cups water
Potato Filling:
4 medium potatoes
1/4 teaspoon of saffron
1/4 teaspoon masala
1/2 teaspoon cilantro cooking base (Goya)
1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
oil
Directions
1. In a large bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt and water together
2. Set aside to rise for about 30 minutes
3. In another bowl, peel potatoes and cut into large cubes. Boil in salt water until soft
4. Mash potatoes and season with masala, saffron, black pepper, hot pepper and salt and set aside
5. Divide dough into 9 balls
6. Roll out each ball and fill with moderate amount of filling (divide dough evenly)
7. To seal, wet one edge with water, fold over and press (use a fork to seal edges)
8. Flatten pie between hands as much as possible without breaking the seal
9. Fry in oil until golden brown
